Employee relations are a fundamental concern for virtually all of our clients. Lawrence Kamin’s team of corporate business counselors offers clients a wide array of employment law services, including advice on regulatory issues and developments, preparation of employment contracts and employee manuals. Because of the proprietary business nature of many of our clients, we often focus on the execution of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements and provisions to protect the confidentiality of trade secrets.
Because employment disputes have the potential to disrupt client business, we emphasize prompt and discreet resolutions whenever possible. Lawrence Kamin regularly defends clients in virtually all types of employment litigation and arbitration, and tries cases in both state and federal courts and before arbitrators and mediators in employment-related claims. Our firsthand experience gives clients access to the subtleyet critical to successful matter resolutionnuances unique to each litigation and arbitration forum.
Lawrence Kamin’s team of litigators has won breach of employment contract, trade secret violations and breach of non-compete and non-solicitation contracts cases. We have successfully prosecuted and defended employment termination and discrimination cases under the Civil Rights Act of 1991, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as matters relating to wrongful and retaliatory discharge and wage disputes. We have regularly appeared before the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Human Rights Commission, the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, the Cook County Commission on Human Rights, the Illinois Department of Employment Security and the Illinois Department of Labor.
